Established in 1933 , Callaghan Motors had outgrown its existing premises in Warrnambool and had decided to relocate with the purchase of a 21,000m2 site on Raglan Parade, west of the city. Starting with a tired large format hardware store, the brief set about transforming the neglected warehouse into a vibrant, flexible & functional facility that meets the needs of the business over the decades to come.

ERA Architects involvement included the concept design, town planning & construction documentation of the new facility that created an expansive service and administration area into the existing buildings footprint. New showroom zones that recognize the particular identities of each brand were added to activate the site frontage and capture the attention afforded by the sites prominent corner location. Whilst each brand maintains their distinctive character, use of understated architectural elements throughout the showroom zones tie all the brands coherently under the Callaghan Motors umbrella. Located in the vicinity of various dealerships in the area, the final result is a six dealership supersite and head office that sets the benchmark for vehicle sales & service facilities in the region.
